Having Veneers?

I have horrible teeth in my opinion they are all there except one (i had it out yesterday, hurts like mad!) which is fine because it wont cause me pain in the future and when i smile you cant tell there is no tooth because its from the very back.

my teeth are white but not in-your-face gleaming colour white, at the front from when i was little my teeth arnt straight, i think getting braces wont help because im 15 and think they have stopped growing, so i want some veneers theres about four teeth on the tope row that arnt straight and about five on the bottom how much would this cost??

i know probs allot right? just asking though.

thanks

Having Veneers?
Your jaws will continue to grow. You're only 15 and braces are not a lost cause. Veneers on the other hand are expensive %26amp; irreversable. Plus when one chips, shatters, or falls off, it can take 4-6 weeks to get the replacement made %26amp; reattached. Once they've shaved your teeth down, that's it. Your stuck with veneers for the rest of your life.

I was 15 when I got braces, and they worked wonders for me. So unless there is some fluke and you've stopped grown 6 years too soon, veneers are not the way to go.
Reply:veneers are at least £500 per tooth and that would be cheap probably £600 or £700 per tooth somewhere good. They need to be replaced eventually too. I dont think they hurt anymore than having a filling.

If your teeth need straightening slightly look up 'invisalign' braces.
Reply:ah babe, don't do it.. I have veneers (I had a condition where there was very little enamel left) it costs a fortune and it is bloody awful to go through, if your teeth are 'white' leave them be,(or get a bleaching if u want more confidence) as for straightening them, ...ha i had lovely straight teeth (the best thing about my teeth!!!) but the veneers change the shape of your mouth.. you will probably find (unless you have a real good dentist!!) that they will be more sticky out!!!! (mind i think i had a crap dentist!!!) talk to your dentist about braces, i am sure they will be able to help you,

honestly leave it for a few years and if you go for it make sure you have a real good dentist, they shave your teeth away so you are left with sticks.. bear in mind if the veneers fall off you will have to have sticks for teeth for days..(I have had it happen to me.. I didn't open my mouth for about a week!!.. my family loved it!!) ;-)

not trying to scare you, but think it through properly, and REMEMBER pick a GREAT dentist.. xxx
Reply:no veneers ive my own teeth, at 53, have not been to dentist since i was 35, they do not ache, bleed, i clean them four times a day floss on a night, hate dentists,

nhs denists i think its free till your 16, why not join a dental school get them done, these are dental students who do practical work and take exams to become future dentists your teeth would be of great interest to them.
Reply:You sound like my situation except I'm older. I think because you're 15, Veneers are out of the question. No regular orthodontist/dentist would put Veneers on healthy yet crooked teeth. They want to use your own teeth.

Plus, Veneers are about $1000/tooth. So, if you got 4 on top to fix and then five on bottom, there's $9000. When you can get them straightened and then whitened by a dentist.

I chose the Invisalign route. I just want my upper front 6 teeth to line up better. And my lower front teeth to be straight too. Sounds like what you want. I could care less how my molars line up. I'm doing that for $3000. And it'll only take 7 months. Better than $9000.

Ask if you're a candidate for Invisalign. Invisalign is good for crowding of teeth. If you've got big gaps, braces will probably be better. And why not braces? You're still real young.
Reply:Your not too old to have braces. Veneers are very invasive and can cause a life time of trips to the dentist if you dont look after them properly. I would leave getting veneers done and look into braces instead
