Is it okay to have periodontal work after getting porcelin veneers. My dentists says I have gum recession.....

My dentist says I should have grafting done after she puts on the veneers. Will my teeth look bad doing it this way? She has a margin on my teeth and the veneers will only go up to that margin below the recession. I'm very scared I'll be out 9,000 bucks and have an unattractive smile until I can afford the periodontal work. There is no turning back. I have the temporaries on now. Should I worry?

Why is she doing the veneers first?? Wouldn't the perio surgery be first, then the veneers? I'd investigate more, maybe even a second opinion. Have you already had the teeth prepared for veneers? When doing grafting, the goal is to prevent/treat recession, but it seems to me that doing the surgery first would allow a better look at the increased length of the gumline, thereby determining your margin for the veneers. Get a second opinion.
Reply:Ask the dentist how long they will last, they don't like to answer questions like that,a dentist will never tell you the longivety of veneers or caps, after paying all that money, you can't get to those teeth to clean then, and they will rot.
