What's The Difference Between Dental Bonding And Porcelain Veneers?

Do veneers simply last longer? I have pretty big gaps in my teeth because one of them doesn't want to come out, another one never formed, and a third one is very skinny. My parents attribute this to the radiation in Eastern Europe after Chernobyl because I was born there a few years later. If you are a dentist, what would you suggest? Bonding or Veneers? Which one lasts longer and can be used to fill in pretty big gaps? My dentist suggests that we make the four front teeth bigger because I have four instead of six... Thanks a lot!

your parents may be correct but a dentist needs to evauate the spaces you have in between the teeth before deciding on veneers, composite bonding or even ortho.





you do not say how old you are so alot of the treatment ideas will be affected by your age- for instance- most dentists would prefer to wait a few years into adulthood to do the veeners due to physical growth changes ect...





veneers are made from porcelain and are lovely and longer lasting than bonding.





but ortho might be indicated as a first step of your overall treatment. its a big investment and i know you want it done perfectly so consult with your dentist and see what the options are

Reply:Veneers are much more expensive compare to bonding as they are prepared in the dental lab. At your young age, orthodontic treatment would be better. Bonding will turn yellowish as time passes. They do not lasts longer compare to veneers.
