Am getting Veneers?

Am getting 6 veneers in the front teeth soon. Is it sore getting them done??

Am getting Veneers?
If you do not NEED them - due to damage from an accident or something, do not get them. It is the latest thing to part you with your money when there is no medical reason to. They will have to grind the enamel down some on your teeth to apply them. Losing enamel causes sensitive teeth. And although they say a "good set" will last up to 12 years before they have to be replaced, I know people whose veneers fall off every couple of years. Then there is the expense of replacement.

If you really just want straight teeth, get good old-fashioned braces or the new invisalign.
Reply:Lucky you! Wish I could. I want lumineers porcelain veneers.
Reply:My wife got a few replacement/veneers and she was in pain for about two weeks. About a year later, she started feeling pain below her nose, deep in the roots of where here incisors used to be. It is becoming unbearable, so she is going to see someone tomorrow.

I hear alot about dentists telling people that "these teeth are really bad, we're going to replace them / add veneers". That's what her dentist said, so she just ceded to his authority. They are just trying to get practice, make money, or both.

If you do it, just make sure that you actually want the work done and realize that you can't get back your natural teeth. If you foresee not having insurance or a job down the light, be financially braced for a major cost if something goes wrong down the line- which it often does. Good luck.
Reply:Sometimes they do hurt. My mom got them, and was in pain for about 1.5 weeks. Idk though, she has reallly sensitive teeth.
Reply:i had mine done 7 years ago... it is no worse than having a crown, even less so. Veneers are much thinner than crowns, which means that dentist takes less of the tooth structure off, less trauma for the tooth, faster healing.

The only difference that i feel now is that they are not as sharp as real teeth are. So if you a nail-biter you'll have to quit :)

you'll love them!
Reply:I had one tooth at the front done, it did not hurt at all.
