Question on Dental Veneers?

Would the dentist give me dental veneers even if they were not 'neccessary' for a short period of time? Mainly for confidence issues, say if i was getting bullied? Would be willing to pay, if so how much would i be looking at for about two veneers? Thanks.

No it would be unethical.
Reply:I'm a dentist.

Veneers are never "necessary". Their only use is cosmetic in nature.

Furthermore, you don't get veneers for a "short period of time". They are bonded to your teeth, and thus are not supposed to come off. Generally, the cost of veneers varies from locality to locality and office to office. Expect to spend somewhere between $800 to $1500 per tooth. Keep in mind, though, that it is exceedingly rare when merely two veneers alone are enough to address a patient's cosmetic issues.

There is a type of removable cosmetic prosthesis. It is called "SnapOnSmile", if I remember correctly. It requires no anesthesia. Just some impressions of your teeth. It is not cheap, however--just much cheaper than veneers.
