A question about veneers?

i have a friend who is more than likely getting veneers, he is missing a front tooth, which u really cant tell, except if it is pointed out bc all his teeth are together but once it is pointed out u can tell one is bigger than the rest, anyways if he gets veneers will they make it look like he has 2 front teeth or will they just go over the ones he has now and make them look whiter?

A question about veneers?
It will make it look like he has 2 front teeth. They will shape the remaining teeth to look like normal dentition.
Reply:In straightforward terms:

A veneer is similar to a fake nail on your nail. Its for cosmetic purposes.

It sticks on to your natural tooth.

First we must prepare your natural tooth.Like a crown you can decide with your dentist what shade will suit best.

A veneer is therefore something to attach to an existing tooth to enhance its appearance.

It does Not replace a missing tooth.

What your dentist will Probably do for your friend here is create a bridge to fill the gap.

An implant is an option too but is quite expensive, and seeing as the neighbouring teeth are being veneered a bridge would be the commonest solution for this gap in this situation.
