Hi,
I got 5 veneers on my upper teeth a couple of months ago but lately I've noticed they have become darker than my bottom set. They also feel quite rough and up close I can see lines on them where they aren't as smooth anymore, should a polish do the trick? What do they do exactly? or have I caused them damage? I'm also abit annoyed as I was told they were very highly resistant to stains and it's only been 4 months! They are poreclein too
Thanks
Veneers aren't as white as they used to be?
Veneers don't stain or darken, they are glass. Your teeth around them can stain and may make these teeth appear darker. Also, if they have started feeling rough to your tongue, then my guess is they are fractured. See your dentist, he will have new ones made from the old models, so be sure to take them with you. The veneers should not have cracked unless they weren't adjusted correctly or you've had a blow to your mouth or other accident or in some cases its faulty lab work during the firing procedure. Discuss this with your dentist, he will tell you what is wrong.
Reply:If you are not happy with the color of your crowns, they should be removed and their color/shade be recorrected.
If you feel rough you cant solve the problem by a polish, they should be Glazed in Lab again. All these things will take about 1-2 days and can easily be done.BTW you couldn't have posibly damaged them.go to your dentist and everything's gonna be fine.
