Teeth veneers?

has anyone had a full set of teeth veneers?

what are they like? how much do they cost?

Teeth veneers?
Porcelain veneers are very nice...They look very natural and require only a minimal amount of tooth structure to be removed ( unlike a full crown ) They look similar to an artificial fingernail...a thin shell like piece of porcelain made for your tooth...Once they are cemented, they are very strong ( not recommended for molars, due to strength issues when biting)They are usually recommended for anterior teeth that are discolored or mishapen for various reasons....Unlike bonding, they do not stain...they remain the same color as the day they are put in...They vary in price depending where you live...Our office charges $ 800 per tooth.. some charge more and some charge less....Good luck in your decision...
Reply:They look really nice but are expensive and painfull!!! Lots of people just get there front teeth done instead of all of them. xx
Reply:Friends of mine have had their front teeth done with Da Vinci Veneers. They look amazing, very natural and are worth the price if your own teeth are a bit minging. I believe prices vary from Dentist to Dentist.

Reply:It's unusual to have a full set of veneers done and i would imagine it to be fairly difficult trying to cement them in place especially on back teeth!

Most people tend to opt for the central/lateral incisor teeth to have veneers.

Porcelain veneers are great, they simply require you to come into the surgery, the dentist reshapes the tooth and takes an impression of both the upper and lower teeth and this is then sent off to a lab for the veneers to be made, you return out a week and a half later to have them fitted.

Composite veneers are even better, these are made from the composite material that is used for white fillings, no drilling as such is required, the dentist simply roughens the surface of the tooth and etches/bonds the tooth before applying the composite material, and there you have it great veneers that are made by the dentist there and then.

Composite veneers i think are better simply because if you chip a piece of the material off all you need to do is come into the surgery and the dentist simply re-applies the material, if the porcelain one breaks the whole thing usually has to be remade from scratch!

My dentist does his composite veneers from about £50 per tooth, this is on a private basis and the porcelain veneers on the nhs are about £80, but dont quote me on that!
Reply:I got Lumineers. $1200 each tooth.
Reply:I got my top and bottom front teeth done with porcelain 4 years ago when I was pregnant, so it didn't cost me anything at the time. I have since broke one, so decided to replace the lot, until I got a quote for £200 per tooth!!! Will be saving up for a while, cause the dentist filled it with a white filling type thing, but it fell out the next day!
