Do you have veneers?

I'm thinking about getting veneers, but I'm wondering if it is worth the money. I would like to know (FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE THEM) what they are like and your opinion of whether or not it was worth it. Also, what was the procedure like, how long did it take, etc...? THANKS!

Do you have veneers?
They are worth money so long as you find a good dentist to do them!

The impression was taken first then 2 weeks later they came back from the lab then the veneers were placed on which took 3 hours.
Reply:I work for a dental office and i wouldnt recommend getting them....The dentist has to do a lot of prep to ur natural tooth. They prepare the tooth (shave some of the natural tooth off) Take impressions, send it to the lab then get them back and get the custom veneers back and bond them to the teeth.....I would suggest gettin LUMINEERS ..same concept to veneers but way less prep to the teeth and the are contact thin on ur teeth. But all depends on the way ur teeth are now if they are able to do them..Here is a website on lumineers.Good Luck

Reply:A great website to research everything that goes on in the dental office that you can understand is www.simplestepsdental.com. I had the composite veneers (tooth colored filling material) that they just placed on top of my teeth. They worked fine but they always chipped; the composite wouldn't bond correctly because of my hypocalcification (bright white spots). I finally got veneers on 1 yr ago and love it. I would research...because once you drill on a tooth you can't go back.

The first visit should only be about 30 mins to take an impression. The prep appt could take about 30 minutes a tooth bacause they drill; impression and make temporaries. I don['t know how long a civilian dental laboratory takes but the mililtary laboratory takes about 4-6 wks to process the veneers. At the final appt may take about 15 mins a tooth to take off the temporaries and cement and adjust the veneers as needed. I assisted many appts like these in my USAF career.
