Porcelain veneers, advice about teeth please help + bulimia!!?

i have booked a consultation with a cosmetic dentist. my teeth arent majorly bad, just abit worn for the four front ones and discoloured. however i suffered from bulimia as a young teen and my teeth just remind me of that horrible time. i have made a complete recovery and have had two pregnancys since. has anyone had porcelain veneers done? i am thinking of having the top 6 teeth done and then teeth bleaching, does this sound ok? or do you have to have them all done to get a decent result? im worried about being ripped off and told i need more than i actually do. xxxxxx cheers xxxxxxxx

BLEACH THE TEETH FIRST!!!

Then, get veneers on the teeth that need them, and the dentist can make them match the other teeth exactly.. but once he picks the shade for the veneers, they can't be whitened any more.

Oh, and also, your veneers won't glow under a blacklight like your regular teeth do. Looks weird at a nightclub, like you have missing teeth.
Reply:How you priced getting them done? I was told $850.00 a tooth. To me that is crazy and from what I was told if you dont have them all done then it will look bad. Even with bleaching your teeth will not look like the veneers.
Reply:probaly beer talk now but stick too what youve got cosmetic stuff looks good but who wants a doll?
Reply:speak to the dentist you see: do not bleach your teeth if you have been bulimic! your teeth will already have weakend enamel and belaching them will worsen this: you could at best have VERY sensitve teeth-even more then you do now, and at worst loose theeth as the enamel is no longer there to protect them.

Bleaching teeth will loss of emaile will not only weaken them, it puts them at even more risk of turning yellow again, you cant drink any tea or coffee of coke, diet or otherwise as it will turn your teeth back to yellow again, your teeth are weaker as a result of the bulimia and it will make it even worse.

Please speak to a dental specialist about this, the veneers are a good idea of your teeth are bad and your bulimia is gone, they cost alot and need to be replaced after about 10-15 years, but can make your teeth appear better looking, but beaching if your teeth are already knackered is really not something I would recommend.
